Audeze Maxwell :marseyunico: audiophile gaming :marseychocobo: headset :marseygamer: initial impressions

90mm planar magnetic drivers and 80 hours of battery :marseysmokealarmbeep: life, pretty :marseyglam: good. It replaces my 7yo Astro A40 TR. The wifi dongle gives low latency audio and the range is pretty :marseyglam: insane. PC is in the basement and I had loud and clear audio outside :marseytouchgrass: on my driveway on the other side of the house. Tweaking :marseywock: the EQ a bit and the bass is punchy but not at the cost of making other tones muddy, highs are crisp and bright. Dolby Atmos brings a true surround sound :marseyhearnoevil: feel in games :marseylegioncommander: with much more directional accuracy than the Astros. Major :marseygaygeneral: complaint online :marseyidio3: is they are heavy :marseysac: but I don't understand all the butthurt about it. So far my longest wearing them has been 5 or so hours and I have no discomfort. My ears aren't even hot like sweaty :marseychoice2: neckbeards are complaining about. Regardless I ordered some funky Wicked :marseydemonicgrin: Cushions with "cooling gel", mostly because they look neat and should :marseynorm: give a better :marseygenetakovic: seal. Another problem people complain about is side tone interference noises that Audeze says is not fixable due to hardware. I just turn that shit off because I'm tryna shut out the world :marseyww1russian2: not hear all the bullshit :marseyitsallsotiresome: going :marseysal2: on while I'm trying to get a winner :marseyw: chicken :marseykfc: dinner.

Quick update, switched my audio settings to match the capabilities of the headset :marseygamer: and darn are these nice for music. Changing EQ only works when I wire the headset :marseygamer: to PC but that's a very minor :marseyminer: inconvenience. These are hands :marseyshrug: down the best headset :marseygamer: I've tried. Apples to oranges but these shit on my B&O Beoplay EXs. And the Wicked :marseykitti: Cushions were worth it.

dope, I had some LCD-Xs prior and they were stellar headphones.

I was tempted to pick these up for the xbox, didn't think I'd see a review here.

I almost got the LCD-X or the g*mer :marseychocobo: version but convinced myself :marseycyanide: I wouldn't notice :marseyschizonotes: a difference and the Maxwells would :marseymid: already put me ahead :marseyviewerstare: of filthy peasants.

Also got these a few months back. Always thought that audiophile stuff wass bullshit, but I really really like the sound in these. Only problem is that they're gigantic so you look like a dork walking around your home with them.
