Twitter's favorite activist :blacksoyjak: "Data Scientist" (Kareem Carr) thinks that "Python is a massive pain in the butt to install" :marseydunce:

For the uninitiatied: This is the absolute r-slur who spent weeks arguing that "2 + 2 ≠ 4"

https://www.westernjournal.com/wokeness-comes-mathematics-academics-saying-225/

He's also famous for making sophomoric ggplot charts in R to show off his "data science" chops :marseysmug2:

and going viral for bullshit like this:

He's probably talking about on windows where it is kind of annoying and unintuitive if you've not a preexisting nerd.

On linux it's easy af of course pacman -S python

You mean apt install python

That's a MS problem though. There's a reason almost no one uses Windows for software development unless they're specifically writing software for Windows.

It's trivial to install python on windows.

It is, but then you receive a Python project from some r-slur that requires a different Python version to resolve the packages correctly. Then pip is wrong. Then pipenv version is wrong. Then some fricking package doesn't exist for Windows and needs to be compiled from source and you've spent hours trying to set the darn thing up.

I just don't accept existing projects without a working dockerfile anymore.

I'm not a programmer but this was my experience. I just wanted to make a cute GUI for a program I wrote ok.

That's moreso due to python being r-slurred than being hard to install

Give me your money and I'll annoy people with it :space: https://i.rdrama.net/images/16965516366194396.webp

I think it's setting up the environment variables that trips everyone up. You'd think they'd have already released a dirty bat file for that..
