Honestly the Apple silicon macbooks are so fricking good. I picked up a maxxed out refurb M1 Pro a few weeks ago after being a die hard Arch user for ~6 years or so and I'm really impressed.

I still want Arch or similar + a tiling wm on my desktop, but man it's so nice to have everything "just work"™. Plus, I just need to buy a docking station and it can basically replace my windows desktop for art software, relegating it to only powering my racing sim. It also helps that I finally got around to building a home server that runs all of my services, so whenever I need Linux I can just ssh in and do whatever I want to do.

If Apple ever ships a competent tiling window manager for mac os, I'll pretty much be out of reasons to use Linux on desktop.

Yeah pretty much the same here. It's so nice just to assume first party software will work.
