Which email provider do you recommend?

It's time to stop using gmail.

I've thought about using my own domain but it'd probably be blacklisted from half the internet.

idk much about what's out there but I'll just move to proton if I can't find anything else.

Any other ideas?

Just continue using gmail, it's innocuous and doesn't mean anything. As soon as you drop a protonmail address to some normie who googles it, they're think you're a cattle male feminist.

Or run your own email server and get filtered out by most commercial email services. It's such a pain in the butt as you said.

Here's my email that I use as an alternative to gmail.

Gmail started forcing you to use their javascript page which annoys me so I want to move away from it if only for that reason.

Why not use a desktop email client and/or app.

Using your own domain is no problem for the address. Just don't actually run the mail server, it's managing that and their reputation that's not worth it. Having the address at your own domain also makes it easy to switch services.

Personally I've been satisfied with ProtonMail. The other products have a lot of idiosyncrasies but the e-mail service is fully functional and can be used with third-party programs now.

Do you have your own domain set up with protonmail?

Yes. They do make you pay for that that though. :!carpmerchant2:

I bought a website/domain through godaddy and pay basically $50/yr to have my email attached to that. This means i have more control and me emails are in less hands/subject to fewer TOS/privacy issues

I've been happy with proton just fine. At least you can have it like <username>@pm.me and it looks just slightly more professional than Gmail</username>

I've been looking at one called MailFence

They're privacy-focused or something, idk, can't remember

But they turned me away at the gate last time I tried to sign up with them, maybe because I was using a VPN

Nice to hear Proton can be used with third-party programs now.

Gmail is pozzed as frick and scan all your email for advertising purposes, that's extremely grim
