Looking at the Google Jeetphone 9, when did phones stop getting better?

Feels like phones haven't gotten better in at least 10 years.

:marseydisagree: I used to be able to pop the backplate off, pop out the old battery and slide in a fresh one. No heat to loosen glue. No screwdriver. No youtube tutorials necessary.

!codecels Do any modern phones still allow this?

Imagine how much s*x you won't be having after you whip that baby out on a date and the foid's vagina turns into the Sahara Desert. This is assuming of course you used a third party app to spoof blue iMessage bubbles in order to arrange the date in the first place, which is enough to get you charged with r*pe in currentyear+9.

the Linus video is pretty good.

For some reason (firmware support by qcomm?) they use a automotive SoC not a mobile SoC so the performance isn't great while also sucking a ton of battery.

Yeah Qualcomm wasn't known for providing driver/kernel updates for all that long. Everything's open source so like Google did you could just write your own, but Fairphone is too small to maintain a software team for that I guess.

Naw, Qcomm uses binary blobs a ton so if you're at their behest if you want firmware with updates.

If Fairphone is so good why does the guy on the bottom who advocates for this shit use Samsung as his everyday phone? :marseythonk:
