I'm looking to get into video editing and I don't think I need all that much. These would be simple shitposts of static images and crude MS paint drawings. I'm not even talking about animation, just one frame after the other. I would like to add gifs, music, voice recordings, and sound effects though.
I'm hoping for something simple that my average performance laptop could run. And also for something free

Kdenlive is the most feature complete and stable of Open Source video editors with some really good mechanics like "scenes", which are just broken down portions of edited video clips that you can edit independently and add to the master timeline.
Basically instead of editing the video all at once on a big timeline you can break it into relevant sections and edit those and then add them together, still with easy editing
