almost a whole subreddit of indians looking to study data science or CS master degrees

https://www.reddit.com/r/Indians_StudyAbroad/top/?sort=top&t=year

i'm lazy to isolate drama but it's very strange reading these perspectives :marseyquestion: people dodging bank account checks, overstaying visas, caste discrimination, entitlement, there really are over a billion of these people huh :marseyconcerned:

i did see one strange comment about racism being caused by "pan stains", i imagined stains in houses caused from cooking curry

but it's much worse :marseyscared:

it means piss and spit stains :marseysick:

anyway the new meta is studying in german for free, many are thankful in the replies that the language requirements "filter out" the low caste class people :marseysmirk2:

Holy shit I have been looking for this as a final piece to a puzzle I've been slowly figuring out.

The first piece of the puzzle was seeing groups of very dark smelly looking sexy Indian dudes loitering around my (previously) 97% white town. Speaking utter gibberish and just looking disgusting. What were they doing here? Who invited them? Would they ever go home?

The second piece of the puzzle was since 2022, when advertising for fairly mediocre jobs, we've been inundated with hundreds of sexy Indian dudes, all with Masters in data science. For context, pre-2022 we'd maybe get 20 applicants for these roles. It has put a huge strain on managers trying to conduct fair recruitment with a good outcome.

The third piece of the puzzle was understanding that COVID caused universities to realise they could scale up their shitty degrees massively to desperate overseas students and charge them £££s with the promise of a UK student visa and potential job in a booming sector afterwards.

The final piece is this: understanding the industrial scale importation of these rancid sexy Indian dudes. Who was co-ordinating it? Why were they coming here? It's all explained here.

And this is very timely. I am interviewing four of them for a post on Friday. I will scout this subreddit for information to understand what they are doing and any dishonest ways they may have cheated their way here.

Actually,

Esther 1:1 and 8:9

In these verses, India is described as the eastern border of the Persian Empire under Ahasuerus (Xerxes I) in the fifth century B.C. The India of the book of Esther is not the modern-day Indian peninsula, but rather the country around the Indus, Punjab, and possibly Scinde.

1 Maccabees 6:37

This verse in the Deuterocanonon/Aprocrypha mentions the Indian mahouts of Antiochus's war elephants in the second century B.C.

Esther 1:1

Now it happened in the days of Ahasuerus (this is Ahasuerus who reigned from India even to Ethiopia, over one hundred twenty-seven provinces),

Is data science even a role with enough demand to justify the sheer amount of indians studying it here?

Data science 90% of the time I've seen it is just a fancy name for a spreadsheet slave
