Elon is so out of touch with his Canadaization plan for the US tech industry that even redditors are contemplating a final solution to the jeet question :marseyelonmusk: :marseyxdorbit:

Musk and Vivek believe India and Pakistan are havens of tech pioneers. If that were true, China and Russia would be trying to recruit them to compete with the U.S. In reality, most sexy Indian dudes are barely literate and the ones in tech got their degrees through significantly lower standards than the US has (and through cheating). Musk is unironically a good case against immigration and Vivek proves the "based sexy Indian dude" meme is faker than a straight Groyper.

If this is the case, tech companies wouldn't want more of these visas issues. Yet they obviously do.

The American tech talent pool is terrible and everyone in the industry knows it. Probably at most 10% of the interviews I do are with actual American citizens, and this isn't due to some sort of bias with the recruiting pipeline. The skill simply is not there, and neither rightoids nor leftoids are serious about cultivating it domestically. The rightoid delusion where top tech firms offices look like something out of Mad Men is as sad as the leftoid delusion where top tech firms are headed by obese black women who have been liberated from white patriarchy.

there are 10s of thousands of software engineering graduates in the US just from the past year. The idea that there aren't enough recruits isn't true. Companies hire jeets because they work for less.

Yes, the pipeline is there and the talent sucks. The top talent from those schools will also be from immigrants or the children of immigrants anyways. We're hiring for jobs that pay 300k+ regardless of ethnicity, the idea that the pay isn't good enough to incentivize Americans does not pass the laugh test.

Neither leftoids nor rightoids believe in economic competition anymore, for different reasons. It's sad.

Sure some of the companies use them as intended, but a decent chunk of h-1bs go to thinly veiled outsourcing shops like Tata, Cognizant, Infosys, and Deloitte (the non-tax one, maybe the tax one too) that focus on non-specialized jobs.
