It’s strategically important for Zelenskyy. It’s a bit like in poker, dude bet his reputation on Backhmut, like now Ukraine is losing ground around Avdiivka a place more important than backhmut but nobody talks about it and it even seems Zelenskyy is ok of losing it just not to lose backhmut. I personally don’t even think he expect to win this war but just want to milk it how much he can. He is already building his life outside Ukraine like he bough houses in Israel, Miami, Spain.
But this Ukrainian spring offensive probably will be the final of this war and it doesn’t look very good for Ukraine because they were expecting that Russian on 20 feb would strike Kiev from Belarus with its mobilized forces and after defending it, they would launch fantasy counteroffensive that would reach Crimea. But Russia didn’t do it because they ain’t running of time. It’s Ukraine that needs to show results or the project will be terminated. Biden can’t drag this conflict into November 2024 since every month 1,2% less American support sending shit to Ukraine and at the hight on March 2022 it was 60% and now in January it was 48%. So it’s up to Ukraine to show results but at same time they are westing elite soldiers in backhmut

But Ukraine seems to have legit launched offensive in south of Ukraine. For 3th day in row they losing tons of vehicles there. But somehow pro Ukrainian crowd don’t seems to understand in Kharkiv Russian didn’t digged tranches, back than nobody expected Ukrainian to be so r-slurred. For a country with very poor economy and 3 world worst fertility rate, going to war is a suicide, their logical move would been screaming peace talk. But no they screaming Crimea will be Ukrainian and by this the getting in even bigger debts, officially lost those 8 millions refugees because they won’t come back after more than a year, they have a new life, post khoholstan. And best part 2,5 million people from Crimea don’t want to be richest region in one of world poorest country now since their life standards will be very bad and Ukrainian idiots are screaming kill every collaborator in Crimea that had connection with Russian gov and that’s pretty much every Crimea citizen. Ukraine will give them only Ukrainian language that they don’t want.
People love story of small good force beating bad big evil force. But Ukraine is not good force, it’s r-slur force and they dragged us into their fantasies and local products now cost almost 2 times more expensive than before the war just because we need to save them. Could had bought a kebab for 4 euro in 2022 Jan and now have to pay 7 euro for a smaller kebab.
