We have a year or two max to get serious about this before the crashing economy forces us into the war to spend our way out of a crash again. China is years ahead in ramping up production rates and are probably producing plutonium pits many times faster than we can by now. meh when you find someone with the clearance and ability to work with classified parts, you try to keep them on.
