I think, with the advances Russia has made with their tech during this Operation, they would probably trounce the army foolish enough to try an actual peer conflict these days

Thing is Ukraine as land army is bigger than nato now. For example France is considered stronger than Ukraine but in reality Ukraine is stronger now than whole European part of nato, France as strongest European nato country has 100k active force while Ukraine had at its peak 1.4 million. France has 222 active tanks, Ukraine received over 500 tanks from west and it had its own around 2500. In artillery it's even more brutal “ CAESAR” best frogs artillery they officially have 46 of those while Ukraine at least 50. So Ukraine is way better equipped than west wants to admit
