They changed the plan, since then they didn't had any defeats. Og goals was neutral Ukraine without Crimea but with republic Donbas. But Ukraine rejected this in March 2022 because Victoria Nuland promised Ukraine will strategically defeat Russia. Then at one point for strange reason Ukraine went to offence. Ukraine never had population to take Donbas or Crimea (Being honest Zelenskyy never talked about taking Donbas because it's so legit impossible) so Russia decided Ukraine wants a war of attrition, decided to annex more territory, so Ukraine enjoying consequences of their wishes.
Things today look a lot worse for Ukraine than in 2022, they now promise a counteroffensive in 2027. If things continues like that there won't be people left in Ukraine by that time.

That picture is 2 day old. And in 2 days they captured more than 1/3 that spring counteroffensive could reach in 6 months and 300 billions in western aid. You must be legit idiot if you trying to dunk on Russian progress. Things to remember Vovchansk is a city, something spring counteroffensive couldn't even touch.
