This is like the War of the Cities in the Iran-Iraq War except somehow not very dramatic. Still horrible but not dramatic.

If they can just shut down the airports around Moscow intermittently I'd bet that would have a big effect. Russia is extremely dependent on air travel.

And I don't think you could shut down airports with those drones, for one they have tiny warheads but also low range air defense still works against them. So anything Russians really want to defend is immune to drones, but since russia is frickyuge even their massive AA stockpiles can't cover it all (and those were also attritioned pretty bad by this war).

So Russia :marseysaluteussr: has zero interest in defending their oil refineries or reserves, gotcha

point was they have far too many to defend reliably

The airports get shutdown because they don't want their own civilian planes in the air while air defense is active. It's to avoid shooting down civilian airliners. These raids happen at night and probably last a few hours at most so it likely won't have a huge effect on airport operations.

This but unironically. When you're out there buttering up some academic program about how you understand AI, or you're doing whatever zoomer r-slur version of the "Revolution in Military Affairs" is, I'll still be here. Because that's who I am. That's what I'm good for.
