For context, an obviously fake video of a plane getting abducted into a portal by UFOs tore apart the UFO/UAP community for the past few months. It was about 50/50 'you can't prove it's not real! 
' vs. 'holy shit this is r-slurred'.
The subreddit dedicated to the video (/r/AirlinerAbduction2014) is taking it pretty well, but there are some cope threads sprinkled in there.

I remember some posts in /r/UFOs from 80-somethings talking about how they've been interested for decades. I don't know how someone can tolerate getting blueballed every few years for that long. It does almost feel masochistic.
