A conspiracy theory I can believe in: Dentists gave this guy's whole platoon fillings for no reason

Is it a scam for money? Are they putting in tracking devices?

My guess is, it's just for fun. I trust dentists less than aliens.

I believe it. Unnecessary work they can bill insurance companies/the government for done on gullible young adults

And how many people you know who would seek a second opinion for their teeth? Easy way to bilk patients

For sure, I know I wouldn't unless it was something absurd.

40 cavities? I thought I only had 32 teeth. Just shut up about it? Oh okay :marseyclueless:

Definitely a scam. Dentists are the most scammy people in the world. I had to get a lot of dental work done and even when they aren't intentionally scamming you they may as well be. But often it is an intentional scam. Feels very icky that we have to trust people like that to be in our mouths with needles and drills.

fake as frick. they won't do anything for your teeth at boot camp unless you legit cannot function without dental work being done. many, many times did I hear from my brothers in arms, they were told they had to wait even for bad dental problems, until they arrived at their first permanent duty station

I got 5 fillings in boot camp and when I got out and got a real job with insurance they had to redo every single one of them cause they were all fricked up. Stupid butt navy dentists. They probably do use you as compliant practice mouths

My last dentist told me insurance wouldn't cover my wisdom teeth extraction. Later the receptionist told me my insurance had over paid so I had a bunch of money I could use with them. I didn't figure out until I ran out of that money and suddenly they found a cavity that my insurance wouldn't cover and therefore I had to pay in cash. The b-word flipped her shit when I told her I would wait for my insurance to cover it.

I went to a different dentist the next week and my insurance covered it.

I got lucky once with the dentist.

I needed a number of fillings (turns out flouride good?). He was like "I'll just do all the fillings now, charge what i can to your insurance, then charge the rest next year when it resets"

He retired 3 months later, i never paid for the back half.

I'd sooner believe the average amerimutt has shit dental health than an army dentist trying to defraud the military.

I don't believe :marseyparappa: it. Why do it to recruits who have a short :marseyprincesszeldatotk: period :marseyuterus: of time to get in their required training when you can get it done by guys already active with not much to do? He probably had a bunch of people in his boot camp platoon who needed their wisdom :marseyprincesszelda1: teeth :marseything: pulled.
