I think the pseudophilosophical aspect of SCP caused that, as now writers think that if they add something about meta-narratives, fiction layers and patafictionality to their creepypasta, they can create yet another "It's an abstract entity with the power to control not only everything in the SCP universe, but the writers and readers themselves" as if that hasn't been done so many times before (2747, 5500, 3125, Swann's 001, 6747, many others). Also old SCPs have been retconned/powerscaled into omnipotence through secondary sources, such as experiment logs changing SCP-682's power from "can regenerate from anything" to "whenever damaged, adapts a feature to become immune to and capable of destroying the attacker", shown best by that infamous entry where it eats planets after getting nuked.
