These sorts of accidents are 100% preventable and you are probably right that this was caused by an impaired driver who was speeding. Of course the individuals are responsible for their decisions but the players are supposed to have contacts in the organization who can help them out if they cannot find a way to get home safely and its obvious that Kirby needs to review how this is handled in the future.
