I've been telling Leafs fans for years that if they want the team to do better, all Leaf Fans must do the following:

  • Stop watching the games.

  • Stop buying tickets

  • Stop buying Leafs merchandise.

  • Stop talking about the team with other people.

Basically to stop acknowledging the team's existence. This will hit the MLSE profits while simultaneously telling them why, namely "Your team is crap", and they'll be forced to improve it or risk losing more money.

I also recognize this won't work because encouraging spontaneous collection action never does. But at the same time, it's depressing to see a Team that could be the NY Yankees of Hockey (hopefully without the whole NY attitude), never getting anywhere because running a terrible one is more profitable.
