Shouldn't the ref delay the freekick until the team is back? I mean sure, this way it's more funny, but I think the ref is at fault here.

Yeah, never doubted that. But I do watch German 2nd/3rd league and they also have shitty refs (3rd league also has no VAR). And some of their games are insane as well.
Wanted to know the opinion of other people :D
