Anyway, these two things are completely unlinked, a /r/soccer thread saying Newcastle fans shouldn't go to matches in order to harm the Saudis is basically hoping for a butterfly effect. All football fans are virtuous until their club is sold to the Middle East.
No British government has ever cared about Newcastle so I'm happy that the Saudis are.
