Why do United fans hate the glazers again? It's not like they haven't spent big money season after season. I understand results have been shit but shouldn't that blame fall mostly to a DoF or individual managers?

because they bought the club with a loan where the club itself is collateral and the debt was on the club not their own personal wealth. they literally bought the club for free and all loan and interest payments have been through the club using club profits. Even if the qataris bought the club they would still have to pay the debt and the glazers get off with billions for free. :marseymerchant: They bought the club for 800m pounds and the debt is still about 530m, On top of that, the stadium and training ground are old as frick and will take 100s of mils to improve or rebuild.

we could've kept cr7 for a few more years but they needed to sell him to help with debt repayments, by the time sir alex left the squad was aged as frick cos there wasnt money to bring good replacements in. After that Moyes, LVG and Mourinho didnt really get the players they asked for because the club wanted to be cheap. We didnt have a DoF and all transfers had to go through ceo Ed Woodward. To his credit he really increased the club revenue a lot through sponsorships from all sorts of random shit like wines and chopsticks and stuff, but the dude was absolutely clueless about football.

Even when we started spending big the transfers didnt make sense. imo ony reason pogba transfer (100m) was approved was cos of his commercial appeal, mourinho allegedly didnt want him. Alexis sanchez for 34m, 20m signing bonus and 600k per week, he only played 32 games for us and got loaned out (we still subsidised his wages) until we let him go for free to inter. maguire for 90m. Not to mention all the other 40,50,60 mil transfers that didnt amount to much

Just cos money is being spent now doesnt mean much, look at boehley burning through a bil at chelsea. at least that guy is spending his own money whereas the glazers have literally been taking 10s of mils in dividends every year since they bought the club. Only reason the club can spend big is through the insanely large fanbase which is slowly being whittled away from the lack of on field success. They literally brought us to the worst ever season in decades before they finally made some changes, bringing in Richard Arnold as ceo/dof who at least knows what the offside rule is, working more with ten hag to get who and what he wants. But tbh the damage is done, we will never win a major trophy while these guys are still around.

Oh man I forgot all about the Sanchez deal. Man went from arguably world class at Arsenal to trash overnight at United.

Shame what they've done then I guess, any consolation United's popularity is still going strong here in the states from what I see, if I meet another EPL follower 8/10 times it's a United supporter.

They don't have a DoF I think. Or just recently got one. That's part of the reason they're hated in that Man U's footballing structure, decision-making, long-term planning and general organisation competency have been shambolic since Sir Alex left and the Glazers are usually blamed for perpetrating that. And they're viewed as being financial parasites in that most of the "big money" United spends in generated inside the club and the Glazers regularly scrimp off that whenever the club makes a profit.

If I remember correctly SAF personally chose Moyes as his successor, so even he's not exactly blameless.

No DoF is strange, Paratici our former DoF is responsible for a lot of Spurs best players.
