Chris Wood's second goal was Messi-like. I've never seen him move like that before, he's usually a lumbering uncoordinated tank.
Newcastle need to sort themselves out, I'm hoping it's still fatigue from playing a game every three days. Almiron is finished at this level so hopefully there's enough budget for a replacement in January.
Every match in January is tough (Liverpool, Sunderland, Man City, Villa), but at least there's rest time between matches.
Newcastle have had money to spend, they've spent a similar amount to Liverpool this year, you've just chosen quality over quantity which will probably be better in the long run. It's just unfortunate depth has been more important this season than ever
Yeh but Newcastle are at the limits of FPP and I don't think they're paying anyone more than ÂŁ120k/week whereas Man Utd could pay 11 players ÂŁ300k/week and still have a bench of ÂŁ50k/week players.
One of my favorite things on /r/soccer is when ManU flairs complain about Newcastle spending, like it's not only totally fine that ManU has twice the spend, but it's actually something that the EPL should guarantee with extreme prejudice.

Just 3 points above Bournemouth considering their start is laughably bad
Only 2 above Everton without their deduction
Oh and both of these teams have a game in hand on ManU

At the rate they're playing, you'll be lucky if ManU makes it to Europe this season.

Almiron does pretty nicely sometimes. Some of his goals are great. I think he's one of those players that go through phases.
Chris Wood might be doing well under the new manager tactics but we shall see after more matches

I think you've just not got a squad yet to deal with Europe, especially with the extra strain everyone's feeling from the world cup schedule

I think you're right. A more cynical person might wonder if FPP is a construct pushed by the big 6 to ensure that no other team can compete with them.
10 matches in December including League Cup + Champions League is a real marathon.
