The Cardinals told The Athletic that their celebration had no political message.

Matt Carpenter told the outlet that Burleson is a former college DJ and that the celebration is an inside joke among players.

"He's been carrying us at the plate," Carpenter said. "(The celebration) is the furthest thing from a political statement."
