“cabbage stuffed with sausage” so just mounds of sausage with a thin layer of greens overtop. Just because it’s wrapped in a vegetable doesnt make eating tons of red meat healthy Fatty probably ate all of that in one sitting.

thin layer of greens
have you ever eaten kale/cabbages or wtf it is called in Eglish, let alone savoy ? neighbor this aint leafy soy virgin greens, this is fricking nutricious KALE b-word. It aint the same u dont need as much as the dyed water salat u are used 2 eating. eating meats and heavy greens is GOOd 4 U!
On the other hand they apparently no longer grow it "Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France have significant areas under cultivation. In Denmark, on the other hand, savoy cabbage is grown only to a very limited extent."src
It's poor people's food here in Germany. Same as kale. Mainly old people still cook it - my grandma did it often. But I agree that it's tasty. It's also super cheap when in season.
Around the same price as green cabbage. Like 1€/kg. On the same level as carrots. Only potatoes are noticeable cheaper.
In general all "old people" (= native) is cheap as frick here, sadly most younger people don't know about it. Bell peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini are more "in" and also more expensive. Mostly because the prejudice is that you need to cook savory cabbage for a long time (1h+).

Kale is more used by north Germans as well, so does fit. Savoy is used more often in the south.
What do you use red cabbage for? The only use I know here is Rotkraut (basically a sweetish-sauerkraut great with game meat) and sometimes in a döner.
