Almost the entire 3-4 hour drive from Key Largo to Key West never has a soul in sight or any buildings or ANYTHING. I spent hours on Islamorada once and only saw a handful of cars drive over the thing. Not a single person. You could kill someone in the middle of the road in most of the Keys and they could scream and yell and make a terrible mess and no one would have any idea.

#1 most beautiful drive in the country besides through the Rockies is the Keys at night into the morning. The word transcendent comes to mind and it feels hyperbolic, but it's not. And I say this as someone who hates the tropics with every fiber of my being.
