“Lovebombing” as a term is so funny because it's always referred to as a tool of abusers, but in reality it's normally just a romantic misstep by socially awkward but well meaning people.
This girl at work said this guy was “lovebombing” her because he got her a bouquet of flowers on their second date, and how she got out of there because he must be a super controlling person. But really, that just sounds like a guy who doesn't date often, and while that might be a nice thing to do when the relationship is more established, he just pulled the trigger too early.
If you don't want to take a chance on an awkward guy, that's perfectly fine and reasonable, but labeling him as a potential abuser is just ridiculous.
