When I was younger, one of my sisters fiends got outed for faking cancer and I thought she must be a psycho or something. I later found it's common for women to do this, then I found out about the illness fakers subreddit, and the tik tok 'neurodivergents' and self diagnosed tourettes sufferers

I don't mean to break the circlejerk but the reason women have all these issues these days is ultimately due to fricked up endocrinological and immunological issues that stem from a combination of birth control, forever chemicals and honestly just living in more sterile environments. All men living in the 21st century need to be on something that fixes their testosterone and all women need treatment to fix their estrogen/progesterone levels and need to be on a low-inflammation diet. Entire genders are not suffering from some kind of moral failure. Our bodies just literally did not evolve in these types of environments and don't know what the heck to do.

Reading about that actually made a lot of things make sense to me. I don't think it was some intentional outcome but we've inadvertently replicated it on a larger, more complicated scale and no one really wants to face it.

A big contributor to this problem is the fact that conditions with different characteristics that occur primarily in different populations somehow get lumped together under the same umbrella term. A lot of these women might actually have something, but only a small percentage of thing actually fit the "autism" diagnosis. Arguing for the definition of autism to be expanded only leads to more confusion among the public and hurts the quality of treatment for those most in need.
It's the same thing for ADHD actually. Adult women are vastly overrepresented in "inattentive" type ADHD, while younger boys are overrepresented in "Hyperactive" type ADHD. But of course many female ADHD "advocates" get pissy when people point out these two conditions are fundamentally different and should be treated differently.

There are autism activists on LinkedIn who make it their identity. Some end up padding their resume with speaking gigs. They describe their difficulties at work which consists of "talking to strangers makes me nervous", "sometimes i don't pick up on a social cue"", "i have quirky mannerisms", etc but are fully capable of dressing like influencers and putting themselves out there for attention.
