That's the problem with this form of criticism of fascism. If you ever take fascists and portray them as serious or "cool", then you'll end up with a whole lot of morons who think it validates their beliefs that to be fascist is to be cool.
The fascist look is really cool though and denying reality all day doesn’t change that. No political ideology has topped that aesthetic. You can’t burn all the history books that make people nootice.
You can still like that and have the nuance to not be a fricking wingcuck.
Mel Brooks said that the best way to criticize fascism is to mock it relentlessly. To point out how hilariously stupid it is and to play it off as a big joke. The movie JoJo Rabbit was written around this idea, making fun of how dangerously stupid, childlike, and inconsistent fascist logic is. The point of mocking fascism is portraying it as impotent and irrelevant, trying to portray it as this satanic force on the verge of conquering democracy does the opposite. It makes it look incredibly competent and that it can solve every problem in society through sheer competence and conviction. Fascist revel in being portrayed as evil becuase that means there portrayed as effective which is better than being soy.
