Dan Abnett is the God of 40k novels :marseybiting::marseylickinglips:

I've pirated like every audiobook he's ever wrote. His Eisenhorn and Bequin novels are fricking great

I really liked Eisenhorn back in the day but semi recently tried to read a Gaunts Ghosts novel. It's horrible schlock. I couldn't believe I used to really like his stuff.

I'm assuming it's just being older now with a change of taste but good lord.

It's almost as bad as Wheel of Time

Its just fluff literature, it's meant to be mindlessly read while you're on the bus or waiting for an appointment. It excels at that. :marseyreading:

this is one of my fears with revisiting childhood favorites after going back and watching a movie i liked as a kid and finding it utterly horrible

though i did recently reread lord of the rings and i definitely appreciated it a lot more than the last time i read it, as a kid
