rDrama Westmarches campaign?

Would anyone be interested? Had the idea earlier today. I feel like it could work on here. Not sure if anyone else has floated the idea.

I'm picturing it as being text-based and hosted directly on the site somehow, for practicality and posterity's sake.

Assuming interest, the actual system is in the air. I'm partial to 5e and its fairly open access and easy to understand for normies, but levelling becomes a bit of an issue. I also have the Zweihander book laying around, and that system's random character generation/character simplicity is pretty appealing for the Westmarches style of play. However, I'm not terribly familiar with it and it might suck balls.

Anyways,

It's a essentially a very very large TTRPG campaign. Instead of the GM deciding on a date to play with a fixed group, they hand a bunch of players (anywhere from 8 to 50) a map of a big world and go "where do you want to go? figure it out and then hit me up." The players initiate the adventures and are responsible for getting a group together, instead of the DM. This article goes a little more in depth if you're interested.

AD&D 1e or OD&D. D&D 5e is shit & not built with overland exploration in mind, and the Zweihander dev shut down the Trove and I will never forgive him for it.

Yeah the shitty 5e exploration is a strong point. The less that has to be modded the better. I would be interested in playing something OSRy provided it doesn't slip into super gamey territory. And fair enough about the Trove, though perhaps that's all the more reason to pirate his shit and play it anyway.

Interesting, I'm mostly familiar with pathfinder but I've played some 5e and... it's fine. But yeah potentially interested

I'm leaning more towards running something along the lines of ADND or B/X DND over 5e now. I'll hit you up if I can get enough players together/work out the kinks as far as actually running it is concerned.
