He's kinda right, Xmas is a big holiday but it's just another 'big holiday' like the 4th or tgiving. I think the idea that Xmas (and the advent season) is more than a reason to hang out with fam, not go to work, and give gifts to each other has sort of been lost.

lmao the overwhelming majority of US residents celebrate Christmas, even the jewish families often do (in addition to hannukah). It's basically a social holiday at this point, disconnected from its religious past.
Only people I know who don't are Muslims, but there aren't a ton of them here.
