March 1933 German federal election
November 1932
March 1932
Parliament is a straggy process which allows the plurality winner to gain power over Parliament and become its chief.
Hitler won the vote. Three times in a row.
!historychads!burgers Imagine if the the House of Representatives elected the President based on how many states their party held control over. That's how Parliaments do business in Europe, and how Hitler became Chancellor.
Hitler also won a referendum to give him power of the president through merging the two offices. He definitely won elections, albeit not as straightforwardly as most democracies today.
Hitler won two federal elections in 1932. The Nazis had the plurality in parliament. The appointment was constitutionally proper even though Hitler was a Brown Trump.
Hitler made a coalition with another party to achieve supermajority so a superminority is moot. The point of it all is that Hitler's rise to power is worse than what people think. He was Lawful Evil and achieved power through arguably legitimate means, which is a warning to all democracies that their systems are vulnerable to internet memes.
Also he never tried to overthrow the Weimar Republic. He tried to overthrow a Bavarian triumvirate cabal who was trying to overthrow the Weimar Republic. They were a bunch of Bavarian dudes who wanted to install a fascist dictatorship and also blamed the Jews for losing WW1.
And even though I rip of Europeans, TBH the US constitutional amendment system is both gay and not gay.
It's not gay, in that the original 13 colonies formed a union having been created by different entities and different times for different reasons, so they made constitutional amendments require a 3/4 state local electorate vote rather than basing it off national population vote because some states started off more populous than others.
It's also super gay because it's 200+ years later and we treat all new states that we have created as if the starting conditions were the same, and one party controls a majority of all the states which are incredibly low-population.
According to the constitution, in the event of an electoral tie, the math works out that the party who controls the most state legislatures, regardless of size, picks the president.
Well, for a long long time, I was saving up to have a hole one day. And by the time I was able to do that, I figured you were one of the more funny chuds
This hole is for discussion, blogposting, memes, greentexts, and anything that relates to being transgender.
Being transphobic, homophobic, and generally too annoying and chuddy in this hole will get you exiled. Posting elsewhere has little hold on that so as long as you can play nice without concern trolling and hiding your true intentions behind a thin veil you will be allowed to post.

My argument isn't that Hitler was based or deserved to lead an indistrialized nation.
My argument is that if your democracy is fragile enough to be overthrown by internet frog memes, it deserves to be and should.

Is the plurality really necessary or can they be locked out by minority parties banding together
