It's completely normal to like cute things as a guy. Apart from certain degenerates everyone loves cute (baby) animals. For many it's also important that a gf is cute. A girl who is capable of swapping between cute & sexy personalities (though there is some overlap) is like a jackpot. Cuteness often projects innocence and vulnerability - which trigger a protector mode.
You somehow seem to have learned that liking cute things is a female trait? So when you look at your traits you then come to the conclusion and say "I like cute things, thus I must be female". This is where your projection then comes in. Can't comment about anime pics, never had them and I stopped watching animes over 10 years ago (interest just faded). Might consider watching them, but I barely watch any series at all (the last one was Reacher S2, but I never went past 4 episodes - so ~8 months ago).
