Even for enlightened beauty-is-only-skin-deep-pilled individuals, the trans girl is still just an neurodivergent dude doing his best impression of what he thinks a girl should be, which is going to be highly uncanny to most people. I haven't seen Fate so I can't judge how Astolfo is written but he has the advantage of being written in the first place. Everything he does and says has been thought of well ahead of time and the delivery rehearsed. Trans women are doing improv and very, very few of them have good improv skills.
