honestly this is the best way to handle it, recognise you have a fantasy that can never be fulfilled and if you tried to do so it would nuke your life and not make you happy anyway because it would be an ugly mockery of the dream in your head, reminding you every day about what you can't have. much like when furries get too deep into it and get weird surgery or tattoos and regret it immediately
