this nerd should have spent the time and money setting up a lan party instead of making a stupid video about wasting money on a shitty prop lol

!trekkies anyone ever played Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator? (open source Star Trek simulator with no copyright)

game is great because it's dirt cheap, runs on a potato of a computer or even tablets / phones for a lot of roles, but it does require a lot of screens and shit.

I once had a LAN setup a few years ago with over a dozen people with dual starships all running off the same local server.

Even when you have everyone in a role at their own console (Captain, helm, weapons, engineering, science, comms) you can still add extra people at will for specialized roles as single seat fighters attached to the main ships to be launched and controlled via phones or xbox controllers etc. for pitched space battles and everyone gets a legit galaxy quest experience

Literally one of the best lan party games of all time tbh, except playing captain/helm/weapons was always the most fun so you have to rotate roles with each mock mission. :marseywink:

I've wanted to play this for the longest time. Alas I have board game friends not vidya game friends. The board game equivalent is probably Captain Sonar, which I highly recommend.

I feel you, though I'd argue its almost on par with board games because the PC requirements are so low, and you only need 1 copy which is dirt cheap :marseycool:

The space station had an attached ship that got destroyed and then two episodes later it came back to life with the same name, model, and sets, rendering the first destruction completely moot and drama-free.

And they say star trek is creatively bankrupt. pffft.
