It was so stupid, before divining your gear was somewhat expensive but worth it on good uniques or unlucky rolled rares and exalts were mostly for meta-crafting
Now divines are ultra-expensive so you can only use them to reroll your gear once you're uber-rich and exalts are pretty much worthless since there's at best a 1/25 chance to exalting anything good on your gear and you're almost always better off just using conqueror exalts or eldritch currency

I think turbans were also worn by Injuns from the South after when a Cherokee delegation to the British king showed up with Mohawk like hair and (temp I think) tattooed heads it shocked the people they met before the king so they gave them some letter turbans lying around that were left behind from when an Indian (dot) delegation had met the king.
