Maybe they work better within the confines of an already crafted world, but New Vegas was a fluke. They could have done anything they wanted with the Outer Worlds, and they made about the most mediocre game possible. Namaste

The Outer Worlds is a 2018 game stuck in a 2008 engine made by a 1998 dev team.
I really liked the end reveal about Big Corpo actually being a few bad weeks from losing everything with half of its military annihilated.
I also liked the thug boss conspiracy lady and one of the companions... And that's about it I think.
And I say this as a huge FNV fan. Building on a previous IP with many of the assets already built really helped them. They never could have made it on their own.
