I unironically liked the first one. Flawed as it was, it actually did good world-building which is something you rarely see sci-fi/fantasy movies bother with. Unfortunately the sequel trashed that completely and now everyone behaves in a way that makes no sense just to force repeat confrontations between the characters from the first movie.
