I haven't played vidya in ages but found a windows HDD I had and got steam again, I've always been into corridor shooters and it turns out current boomer shooters are actually awesome.
Project warlock was like $3 Canadian dollars and it's actually really good. It's like doom with a bunch of QOL adjustments. I hate to say it but the roguelite elements work really well, and the character optimizations are neat. The level design fixes every detriment found in OG boomer shooters, with very little backtracking.
It's like they kept every good element of older shooters and improved on the rest.
8/10 would reccomend
My only gripe is that it's pretty clearly designed with speedeunners in mind

If you want a good modern boomer shooter, Ion Fury (fem Duke3D) and Cultic (FPS RE4) are worth playing.

I hated cruelty squad's style, felt phoned in.
Some of my favorite games are HL1 and Quake II, i actually like corridor shooters even if they're objectively bad
