I saw some friends before Christmas who have a 12 year old kid who asked if I play Fortnite and I said no I never had any he said it was his favorite game and I should give it a try.
And so I got a new PS5 for Christmas and needed a game to play and gave Fortnite a try, and now, mechanically, it's an okay game, you collect guns, you get into shootouts, you run out of ammo.
But what's great about it, especially for me as someone who sucks at videogames, is that everyone who plays this game sucks due to the target audience being literally 10 years old so if you have any more than that low bar of skill you can mow your way through matches without breaking a sweat. It's only too bad this game doesn't have voice chat so I could tell the children I'm killing to suck it.
10/10 will continue destroying the dreams of the youth.

I kept on winning it and my kids were in awe of me. Like 10 times in a row I came in the top 3.
The kids who play this are fricking morons all dressed up in fancy skins and too busy making stupid constructions and doing stupid dances, whereas by sticking to actual basic FPS fundamentals, you can kill them all very easily.
It is extremely satisfying knowing you have beaten a child who takes it all very seriously.
