Why? I don't trust paraslop (especially modern paraslop), but vicky 2 never made a whit of sense to me so I'd like to hear why vicky 3 is any good, especially given how incensed the g*mer nation was with it on release.

It is entirely my personal opinion. Vicky 2 was like an old Paradox game with an economy stapled to it, while Vicky 3 is built from the ground up with the idea of being a "society simulator" rather than EU3 but with econ attached.
I think
it was/is mostly people's inflated 
expectations because there 
was no way Paradox would 
release a "completed" game (aka have everything in Vicky2 plus new bullshit) which IMO is unrealistic but idk I just woke up

It is HoI but you have to spend 60 years managing your economy first, which usually starts off by introducing the concept of “economy” and “trade” to your nation of illiterate farmers. Teach them what a “GDP” is and watch them get radicalized 5 years later over it.
