It's a shame that Mankar Camoran isn't as popular as Dagoth Ur. Guy had a great performance in Oblivion, and I enjoyed listening to his rambling.

Hm, I don't buy that characterization of Dagoth Ur.
It's pretty clear the corrupting influence of the Heart of Lorkhan is in control of his actions (this explains all the Lovecraftian symbolism of "Dreamers", he's being controlled by a dead god). Of course this discounts how evil the Tribunal are too. Vivec pretty clearly is trying to protect his butt from being discovered as a murderer even though it drives him crazy, Almalexia is crazy from the corrupting influence enough that she ganks Sotha Sil. An entire conceit of Morrowind is the corrupting influence of power which Dagoth Ur is a victim of just as much as the other "gods".

Is that a bad reading? Literally everyone who tries to control the Heart has a bad outcome.
If you want to be fairer, maybe assign a moral character to Lotkhan is wrong. It's more everyone goes insane while failing to achieve Godhood. Very Lovecraftian
