Games went to shit when it started taking hundreds of people five years to create a bog standard AAA title. No vision, no identity, and because each project is such a massive investment it leaves tons of room for corporate interference.

Hopefully AI and other tech advances can help some with asset production and make things more manageable for artists/designers again.
