yeah they are relatively shallow
but theres actually a pretty decent amount of side characters besides the main ones and i think that kind of balances it out
like ezekiel and jessamine are two cool side characters that you can just miss and they're pretty cool
like ezekiel has back story where he was in a ship accident that permanently scarred him and killed his sister
jessamine shows up on the key because she was a smuggler being hunted by vaarun zealots
theyre not super deep complex stories but its enough to add a bit of flavor
and theres a bunch of people like that

Chinese used to make good games because it was made outside of CCP's influence, but now only their indie theme is worth a darn.
And every multiplayer games with Chinese in it is a sign of it being infested with cheats.
So yes, I think it is safe to call them a bad influence. They may not be the sole factor of it, but absolutely a part of it.
