I am kind of sick of games just becoming inherely easier, especially if they don't give you the option of a hard mode.

Pikmin 1 was a perfect blend of difficulty, where it was generous enough to let you fail but you couldn't be careless and had to learn and adapt from those mistakes.

Meanwhile Pikmin 4 was really easy for the most part, with the only meanful difficulty near the very end in optional content, or if you want to platinum all this mission.

I just want games to have a meaningful difficulty curve, with no way to bypass it except to learn how you are failing and get better

They will never achieve the satisfaction of beating the first stage and then winning the second stage with a slither of health left
