If ANY of the following games make it onto your "Top 10" list,

you have shit taste.

  • Breath of the Wild (1 or 2)

  • Any of the Uncharted series

  • Any God of War after 3

  • Any Assassin's Creed game after 3

  • Helldivers 2

  • Horizon Zero Dawn

  • Baldur's Gate 3

  • Hades

  • Any JRPG (except Chrono Trigger and Tales of games)

FF7 is one of very few games :marseylegioncommander: that actually :marseyakshually: lives :marseyslm: up to the hype. One gets so used to people nuthugging mediocre garbage :marseyraccoonshock: that they become jaded, and it's a pleasant :marseybeanrelieved: surprise :marseyraccoonshock: when games :marseygamer: like it and Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 actually :marseyakshually: walk the walk.

It was a good game, the weird mix of polygons and painted backgrounds gives it a lot of charm. Not to mention solid story and mechanics

HL1 is getting rly dated and isn't as good as when I first played it

BG2 was like playing D&D with graphics, i have good memories of it

Honestly just the world :marseyww1french1: and the state :marseyusa: it was presented in in that game was very unique when it came out and it hasn't been replicated effectively since, despite :marseybipocattentionseeker: a ton of attempts. Gameplay-wise and story-wise it just holds up, but as you said the visuals really :marseythinkorino2: set it apart :marseyvenn6: from everything else. I haven't seen a game or movie :marseypopcorn2: depict a futuristic slum half as well as FF7's.

I prefer quake 1 to quake 2 but otherwise that's a respectable list imo.

FF7 also did away with lots of MMO tropes of the time, it was a lot more science fantasy than high fantasy

Quake II just has this sort of smoothness to it that still holds up. It seems really well coded and all the multi-player levels are well designed.

Quake II felt more polished physics/gameplay wise than Half Life
