You see a LOT of levelheaded, well-adjusted people on r/patientg*mers
Compare it to live service game communities like r/Overwatch. Or the miserable, compulsive neuroticism on subs like r/Trophies
There are a lot of communities who play games to self-medicate their anxiety and depression, to keep up with FOMO, or to channel their uncontrolled compulsions.
This sub helped me reevaluate my relationship to games, and gain a healthier perspective on how I spend my free time. I love seeing new people "come around" and really rediscover gaming for the first time since childhood wonder
