I wasn't allowed to play pokemon as a child because they weren't God's creations and/or my parents didn't want to go through the hassle of buying me a handheld gaming console, but when I did finally play a pokemon game: stunky
It's generation 4, but it's the best pokemon because it has an butt for a face and it's cry is a fart and fart jokes are funny.

Stunky was a great
pokemon 
but u have to trade to evolve in Gen 1-2 tho it may not be worth it for elite
