Star Citizen demo crashes LIVE on stage during presentation

https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxlRWP7thH0T3xWcnmyFp-4kxfCuO6BhXe

Context

There's currently some sort of Star Citizen Con (yes, really) going on and they promised that the game will release in 2026. This time for sure!!! Sadly it crashed during the demo on stage - twice. There's a viral article about the game called 12 Years and $700 Million Later, What's Going on With Star Citizen's Development? with reddit reactions in this thread. Lots of coping and seething in all related subreddits brewing. The grift that keeps on giving!

Ngl this SQ42 demo is the best thing I've seen in a citcon in a long while. Thoughts?

SQ42 confirmed at CITCON for a 2026 release!

Squadron42 in 2026!

tl;dr Fact: 90% of Star Citizen players stop donating before Star Citizen fully releases in a playable state with all its promised features.

i bought a $60 ship in the og kickstarter and see no problem tbh.

there's still no precedence for game of this scale @ that fidelity, so people complaining really have no basis for doing so other than random feels.

maybe it's not even possible with modern tech, but why neg against trying to achieve it?

i'm so overloaded in shit iterative junk games, it's nice to see a dev strive for the highly improbable.

the problem is u have no idea what bleeding edge realtime distributed state management is like,

so u do not have the knowledge basis to really comprehend the sheer technical scope robert is shooting for.

but ur so ignorance u have no idea how ignorant u r.

go back to the goyslop iterative shit ur used to.

As the head of state of a major country I can say that if he really tried he could have finished his game by now.

no one has, so again, there is no basis to say that.

u can make baseless claims all u want, but that's just u being ignorant, and has no bearing on what's actually real.

I got the cheapest aurora pack (40 dollars) and I had fun, I also played elite and Nms and they feel like kiddie pool compared to what this game has to offer.

Elite dangerous is a dad game. The game plays itself and is grindy as frick.

No mans sky is Minecraft at space with absolutely shitty combat(just like Minecraft) which also gets boring super fast.

But this? Star citizen offers you tarkov/Dcs/war thunder combined on a huge scale. Yes it's buggy as frick, but no other game offers anything close.

Can you post your favorite video clip demonstrating this gameplay in star citizen?

it's good, too bad anything even remotely close to on-foot doesn't work with VR

play solo or private group, ignore dads and :!marseytrain:s telling you it's their human right to gank you, and enjoy

elite got less grindy and is getting new updates since frontier doesn't have anything else that makes money

came back and played it for like a month or two, haven't touched it for a few weeks though

Did the kickstarter pledge with the Freelancer package. Don't regret it since these types of games just don't get made all the much anymore when it used be a key genre for PC gaming. Also, it was meant as a donation, not a purchase. If it didn't work out, oh well.

The game doesn't have to be perfect, just shore up the key concepts (explore, trade, combat, mining) and get it out. Once they realized the simps would spend hundreds of dollars for a ship that not only wasn't ready for release but was still in the concept phase however, it was doomed. If the money tap ever stopped we might get something decent eventually, but just try and argue with the idiots given away their money on the subreddit. To them, Chris Roberts is the hottest OnlyFan girl they've ever seen and with just one more purchase, they might get to frick him.

I almost want it to fail at this point just to watch their reaction.

I bought a regular, $60 ship and nothing else, which came with the game too, so I paid a normal amount for it. I'm not that upset.
